Careful consideration must be given to refuse and servicing of rural lanes. Use of bin collection areas to retain rural character is preferred. Where plot collection is required rural lanes should connect at both ends to surrounding streets to mitigate requirement for refuse turning. Bollards to similar features may be used to restrict private vehicle through-movements.
